What does yoga mean to you / how did you come to find yoga? When I lived in Chicago, I was fortunate enough to stumble upon yoga through some of my great friends. Fun fact: When I took my first Corepower Yoga class I literally walked out of the room because it was sooo hard, and now looking back I just laugh to myself remembering what it felt like. I have been practicing yoga since then and there are no signs of me stopping.
What made you become a teacher? I was interested in getting my teacher certification because I wanted to grow deeper in my own practice and have the ability to share it with my family, friends, and strangers – who ultimately have no idea how much this very old practice can change your life for the better. I am 200RYT in vinyasa and completed my training in December 2015 at Joy Yoga in Houston, Texas.
Why do you love the concept of Yoga&Hops? Having the opportunity to teach with Yoga&Hops has been amazing. I have been in sales for 9 years so Y&H is a natural fit for me because I love to be social and network. What better way to sell yoga and beer then to teach to people in an awesome atmosphere! Practicing yoga in a relaxed setting that encourages laughter in class makes yoga approachable to anyone even if they are mainly there to taste the beer and meet people.
What’s your favorite beer? My favorite beer is Love Street from Karbach! Through teaching with Yoga&Hops I am exploring more breweries in Houston and therefore getting to try so many more beers.
What can people expect if they take your class? Expect to laugh in my classes and get down to some good jams. I will add in facts from my yoga education and personal experiences on and off the mat. Cheers! #namastale
