What does yoga mean to you / how did you come to find yoga? I found yoga during graduate school, initially as a workout and avoidance of schoolwork. I very quickly found that I actually liked it, and it helped me de-stress! For me, yoga is a chance for me to move my body, listen to my body, and give my mind a hiatus.
What made you become a teacher? I had been practicing almost daily for several years, and knew I wanted to do yoga teacher training to expand my own practice. I first needed a job post-grad school and that happened to come in Houston, so I did my training here in the HTX! During the training I realized that teaching yoga was really about connecting with other humans, and thats what made me want to teach.
Why do you love the concept of Yoga&Hops? How could one not love the concept of Yoga&Hops?! Beer + Yoga = Does Life GET Any Better!??!?! I also love teaching and practicing outside of studio walls, and bringing yoga to people who maybe wouldn’t normally try it.
What can people expect if they take your class? In my class you can expect a powerful and fun flow. You will sweat, you will laugh, your legs may shake a little, and then you will get to celebrate with all the beer!
What’s your favorite beer? Allagash. White, Black, Curieux – I’m not picky. I just love Allagash.
Beyond the Brewery: My biggest passion is seeing the world. I have a goal of seeing at least 50% of the countries in the world, and I’m only at about 15% so I’ve got a lot to cover. I love meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, and trying new beers when I am wandering around the world!
Also, the one thing I love in life most (yes, even more than yoga and beer) is ice cream. I don’t know how to turn it down.
