E-RYT 200, Forrest Yoga Advanced Training
What yoga means to you / how did you come to find yoga? It all started in my living room when I was living in Indianapolis… I would do 20-min videos that at the time seemed so challenging! After a few years of videos and gym yoga, I discovered Yoga Ananda in Houston and fell in love with the practice and the community. For me, yoga is home. Whether I take a studio class, do a home practice, meditate or just sit and breathe, I always come home to my true Self and get connected to something so much bigger.
What made you become a teacher? Practicing yoga was one of the first times in my adult life that I felt confident in my own skin and in my physical movement, without the need to impress anyone. This was such a gift and I knew I had to share it with as many people as possible!
Why do you love the concept of Yoga&Hops? One of my passions is bringing yoga to those who wouldn’t otherwise have access to it or otherwise try it – and Y&H does exactly this! They blend community, fun, inquiry and self-expression…not to mention craft beer!
What can people expect if they take your class? I describe my classes as soulful – you’ll feel really taken care of while challenged and pushed to new limits, both mentally and physically. You’ll be surprised at what makes you sweat 🙂
What’s your favorite beer? The one I get to drink with good people around me.
Yoga and yoga trainings is my full time gig! With my husband, I train and develop kick ass yoga teachers through my company Mind Tribes., and we also founded a non-profit, In-Powered, that takes yoga into schools in Houston (currently in 35+ schools)!
Off the mat, you can find me on coffee dates with my favorite people, writing, traveling and snuggling with my pup, Pepper.
