What does yoga mean to you / how did you come to find yoga? I came to yoga when I was 16 as a way to cope with my anxiety. I practiced on and off throughout college. It wasn’t until I graduated that I really delved into my practiced. I remember feeling so lost, anxious and confused about myself and despite going to counseling yoga helped me deep dive into my soul. I’ve been practicing regularly ever since.

What made you become a teacher? I wanted to be able to share those experiences with others. In a lot of ways yoga saved my life and helped me become a more ambitious brave person. It was the teachers though around me who helped guide me through this journey and I wanted to guide people in theirs.

Why do you love the concept of Yoga&Hops? First off, I LOVE beer. Beer rules. The taste, the chemistry behind the brew, the healing property of hops all of it is so cool. Beyond that Yoga&Hops and I align in the value of wanting yoga to be accessible to everyBODY and all walks of life.

What can people expect if they take your class? I make jokes. A lot of jokes, dad jokes especially so get ready for that. Get ready to get a little sweaty (very sweaty) and just have fun. My classes are seriously not serious and grounded in fun.

What’s your favorite beer? Right now I’m really into Brash Cali Green IPA and like any Saison you put in front of me.

Beyond the Brewery: I’m currently working on my Masters of Social Work at UH. I love people AND animals. I’m currently working on growing my zoo, right now I have two rescue dogs and a cat. My other passion hobby is rock climbing. I started climbing about 2.5 years ago and since have began traveling the country playing on cliffs and mountains. Adventure is what I live for.
