What does yoga mean to you / how did you come to find yoga? For me, yoga is practice, and the practice changes each time I am on the mat. Sometimes it looks like the practice of self-love; sometimes it’s the practice of presence and being; other times I am practicing non-grasping and and non-attachment, to the poses and to worrying about what others think about me. Other times it’s about focus and intentional breath. Each day is new, and I try to bring that practice off the mat and into my daily life.
I learned about yoga from my mother growing up because sometimes I would attend classes with her. About 4 years ago, I suffered a back injury and was encouraged to consistently attend yoga classes during my rehabilitation, and from there, I fell in love with it!
What made you become a teacher? As I attended yoga classes, I wanted to go deeper into the practice to personally learn more about the ancient history and the spiritual components. I also wanted to be a resource for the mental health community and provide knowledge about its holistic health benefits.
Why do you love the concept of Yoga&Hops? Because it’s so much F-U-N!! Yoga and beer in a brewery sounds like a good time to me!
What can people expect if they take your class? People can expect yoga basics and frequent breaks for beer.
What’s your favorite beer? Stiegl Radler
Beyond the Brewery: I am a Californian, a proud mom of 2 cats, would love to meet Ellen Degeneres, and enjoy reading!
