Certifications: 200 RYT, SUP Yoga teacher
What does yoga mean to you / how did you come to find yoga? As a college athlete I’ve always been driven to push myself. I first found yoga 15 years ago in my hometown, Dallas. The powerful vinyasa practice immediately got me hooked and provided me an outlet to express myself. I love the physical challenge of staying and holding poses allowing me to discover new limits within myself.
For me, the benefit of the physical practice has allowed me to be less reactive and more mindful in my life. To this day it’s one of the main reason I come back to my mat.
What made you become a teacher?Wanting to expand my practice, I signed up for my 200 RYT training. In the training, I discovered my love of teaching and rediscovered myself at a student. Being a teacher gives me the opportunity to share the practice I love with others.
Why do you love the concept of Yoga&Hops? It’s a smart and fun idea – wish I had thought of it:) Seriously, I love the concept because it introduces different communities to each other. Get in a great workout = Get a great beer. Who doesn’t like being rewarded!
What can people expect if they take your class? You can expect an invigorating powerful flow. Focused on breath, intentional holds and fun! I love to provide assists and encouragement for students to move deeper into the discovery of their practice and in life.
What’s your favorite beer? Light IPA’s and Pale Ale’s along with some sunshine and good friends!
Anything else you’d like to add? Outside of yoga, I’m the passionate designer and the owner at Stacy Dawn Design. I enjoy traveling, fetch with my dog Murphy and enjoying Houston’s amazing weather with family and friends.
